G.O.T. Orchards brings teens of all abilities, seniors, mentors, volunteers, families, and community members together through intergenerational learning, orchard-based activities, creativity, mentorship, environmental stewardship, and community participation.

Each participation pathway has its own responsibilities, safety requirements, and next steps. Choose the option that best fits your interest.
Teen Participant
Teens of all abilities can explore orchard learning, creativity, leadership, service, environmental stewardship, and meaningful intergenerational connection.
Senior Mentor
Seniors can share knowledge, skills, encouragement, traditions, stories, creativity, gardening experience, and life experiences with younger participants.
Volunteer / Adult Mentor
Volunteers and adult mentors may support orchard activities, accessibility, programs, creative projects, outreach, events, or other approved community needs.
Parent / Legal Guardian
Parents and legal guardians begin the participation process for participants under age 18 and complete applicable participation, safety, emergency, and consent requirements.

Submit general contact and interest information. Sensitive health, emergency, screening, or confidential participant information should not be submitted through the general website contact form.
Complete Applicable Requirements
Parents or legal guardians complete applicable authorization for minors. Adults complete the screening, orientation, training, and approvals required for their assigned role.
Receive Confirmation & Orientation
Approved participants receive information about their program or role, supervision, safety expectations, accessibility arrangements, scheduling, and next steps.
Teen Participation
A welcoming place to learn, contribute, and grow.
What Teens May Experience
- Orchard and gardening learning.
- Creative arts, poetry, storytelling, photography, and family-recipe activities.
- Intergenerational learning and mentorship.
- Environmental education and stewardship.
- Leadership and community-service opportunities.
- Accessible or adaptive approaches when appropriate.
Participants Under Age 18
A parent or legal guardian must complete applicable participation, safety, and emergency authorization before a minor begins an applicable program.
Photo, media, and creative-work permissions are handled separately when applicable.
Senior Mentor Participation
Share experience. Encourage growth. Build connection.
The Mentor Role
Senior mentors can contribute knowledge, encouragement, stories, culture, creativity, gardening experience, professional skills, traditions, and life lessons while developing meaningful intergenerational relationships.
Mentor activities depend on program needs, individual interests, availability, and approved role responsibilities.
Before Placement
Applicable mentor roles may require an interview, orientation, screening, youth-safety training, role approval, and supervision arrangements before participation begins.
Requesting information or completing an initial conversation does not guarantee placement.
Volunteers & Adult Mentors

Role Approval & Youth Safety
Volunteer and adult-mentor roles are matched to organizational needs, experience, responsibilities, and applicable safety requirements.
Applicable teen-facing roles require screening, orientation, youth-safeguarding training, role approval, and supervision before service begins.
Accessibility & Participation Support
Participation should recognize individual strengths and needs.
G.O.T. Orchards welcomes teens of all abilities and strives to support meaningful participation through accessible communication, adaptive approaches, appropriate assistance, and reasonable program arrangements when available and appropriate.
Participants, parents or legal guardians, mentors, and volunteers may privately discuss relevant accessibility, communication, sensory, mobility, or participation needs before beginning an activity.
Safety, Transportation & Privacy
Safety and appropriate boundaries come before placement.
All participants, mentors, volunteers, staff, contractors, and participating families are expected to follow applicable G.O.T. Orchards Program Rules & Safety requirements.
Placement begins only after required approval steps and a role-specific safety review are complete.
G.O.T. Orchards does not provide, operate, coordinate, or arrange participant transportation or rides. Participants and, when applicable, parents or legal guardians are responsible for transportation to and from programs, meetings, events, partner locations, and other activities.
Confidential health information, emergency information, screening records, background-check information, participant records, and protected onboarding materials are handled through appropriate private processes.
