About G.O.T. Orchards

Rooted In Nature.  Connected Across Generations.

G.O.T. Orchards brings teens of all abilities and vibrant seniors together through nature, mentorship, education, and shared experiences.

Who We Are

Rooted in Central Falls. Growing connection across generations.

G.O.T. Orchards is a community-based nonprofit organization developing an accessible urban orchard that brings teens of all abilities and seniors together through nature-based learning, mentorship, creativity, environmental stewardship, and service.

Fundraising, partnerships, and careful planning are helping build a place where participants can share strengths, learn from one another, and belong.

Why This Work Matters

Belonging grows through active connection and shared support.

Belonging grows when people actively connect through shared interests, encouragement, and positive support for one another—regardless of age or ability. A united community creates opportunities for everyone to participate, contribute, and feel valued.

Growing Inclusion and Nourishment

G.O.T. Orchards recognizes that teens of all abilities and seniors may experience isolation and limited access to inclusive community activities. Some neighborhood households also face barriers to obtaining or becoming familiar with fresh fruit. Fruit provides vitamins, fiber, hydration, and other nutrients that contribute to general health and well-being across generations.

Our proposed accessible urban orchard brings these needs together through intergenerational mentorship, fruit planting, environmental education, and community service. Seniors and teens can share knowledge, build skills, develop confidence, and experience belonging while caring for something that grows over time. With funding and partnerships, the orchard can help expand access to meaningful activities, practical food education, community resources, and responsibly shared fresh fruit.

How We Bring People Together

Through intergenerational mentorship, nature-based learning, community service, orchard stewardship, and nutrition education, participants learn from one another while caring for the orchard and helping fresh fruit reach the community.

Who We Serve

  • Teens of all abilities ready to learn, contribute, and lead
  • Seniors seeking active, connected, and valued roles
  • Families, caregivers, volunteers, and neighbors
  • Community partners and fruit pantries working to improve fresh-fruit access

Before joining an activity, participants—including mentors and volunteers—and parents, guardians, or caregivers supporting them should review our Safety & Legal information.

Orchard & Neighborhood Fruit Sharing

Growing an orchard while valuing fruit already growing nearby.

The proposed seasonal fruit-sharing initiative remains in planning while G.O.T. Orchards seeks applicable guidance. Fruit is not currently being accepted. Current public details are available on the Programs page.

If approved, the program would document permission and source information, inspect whole fruit, and coordinate same-day community distribution and confirmed partner transfer. No freezing or overnight storage is planned. Unsafe, rejected, or unaccepted fruit would be discarded or composted using an approved method.

Developing Approach

  • Invite interest in possible future participation from established fruit-tree owners
  • If approved, document source, permission, inspection, and fruit acceptance
  • Coordinate trained volunteers, same-day handling, distribution, and transport
  • If approved, document same-day distribution and confirmed partner transfer

Growing With Care

Community trust is something we carry together.

Every gift, partnership, volunteer hour, and word of encouragement carries someone’s hope for this community. We will honor that trust by planning carefully, using resources responsibly, listening openly, and sharing what we learn.

Careful Preparation

Clear practices for access, safety, safeguarding, and volunteer support help people take part with confidence.

Honest Stewardship

Gifts and resources will be used for their intended purpose, with clear and truthful updates for the people who make the work possible.

Learning Together

We will listen to participants and partners, notice what is working, and adapt as the orchard and community grow.
